Tabriz General Information
Tabriz is the fourth largest city (after Tehran, Mashhad & Isfahan) with a population of approximately 1,390,000 and the capital of East Azerbaijan province, in the Azerbaijan region of Islamic republic of IRAN. The city is the largest for Iranian Turk people. Most of Tabrizi people speak "Azerbaijani Turkic" language but Armenian minority speaks Armenian language. Tabriz is one of the most attractive historical cities of Iran and the capital of East Azerbaijan Province. Tabriz is an ancient city with a history of more than 4,500 years.  Tabriz was capital city of Iran during the dynesties of Kara Koyunlu, Ak Koyunlu & Safavi & was Iran's crown predominantly during Qajarid dynesty. The economical base of Tabriz are including manufacturing, commerce and transportation.

Local industries produce carpets, agricultural machinery, motorcycles, cement, textiles, food, footwear, soap, and household appliances. Tabriz located at 619 km northwest of Tehran (the capital city of IRAN) and situated at an altitude of 4,434” (1,351 m) above the sea. It has an area of 125 sq km2. 

Tabriz has an agreeable summer climate, but the cold in winter is severe. Altogether, it has a continental climate with low humidity with an average of rainfall 288mm annually.
